Hip Me with Your Best Shot - Part 2 MAT & APPARATUS | ONLINE

6 hours, 6 NPCP CECs, 6 PAA CECs

Welcome to "Hip Me with Your Best Shot - Part 2 | ONLINE,"

After offering "Hip Me...Part 1" for many years worldwide, participants of that course asked for even more!  I developed this course to offer additional repertoire on the Mat and Pilates Apparatus as well as breathing and mediation techniques that support the hip and pelvic region (2nd chakra) for labral pathology.

While taking "Hip Me...Part 1" offers excellent foundational information for this course, I have written this course to stand alone.  If you are already familiar with how to work with labral pathology and are seeking more advanced repertoire and yoga fusion techniques, you can jump right into this course!

The course is based on my firsthand experience as a professional dancer and an early patient of labral debridement of the hip.  I had my first labral debridement in 2001 and my second labral debridement in 2009.  Then after subluxing my hip during a performance in Scotland, I had my third hip scope on December 31st, 2012.  The information in this workshop embodies that trial-and-error process in my own pre-rehab and rehabilitation as well as the integration of my yoga practice to help mitigate and overcome my chronic pain and fear avoidance patterns.

One of the many things I have learned is that, not all labral tears of the hip require surgery, especially if the client responds well to incorporating new movement strategies. This is where movement experts like Pilates, Yoga and Dance Educators enter the Rehabilitation Continuum!

The goal of the workshop is to offer new movement strategies and solutions for care and conditioning to an ever- growing population. This course is appropriate for Healthcare Professionals, Pilates Practitioners, Yoga Teachers, Dance Educators and Professional Athletes.

Objectives:

To learn and understand:

  1. How priming the brain and body enhance movement outcomes
  2. Deeper knowledge of Yoga energetics of the 2nd chakra
  3. Meditation practices to drop into 2nd chakra
  4. Pranayama practices to soothe and cool
  5. Teaching strategies for Zoom and in-person
  6. Evolving goals for hip pathology
  7. Additional exercises with small props and on Pilates Apparatus for labral pathology
